About Enid Dachs, Allied Member ASID

“Great style does not depend on great affluence. With know-how, creativity and an excellent design eye, beautiful, comfortable rooms are within everyone’s reach.”
Enid Dachs, Interior Designer

Enid was born into what she describes as ‘this fabulous and creative field’. Her family had an upholstery business where she played with color selection, mixing and matching fabrics for her father. She was fascinated with color palettes, patterns and textures and how to put them together to achieve interesting and pleasing effects.

Like many people, Enid had several other careers before returning to interior decorating, the one that had always seemed the most enjoyable and natural to her. Along the way she earned masters degrees from New York University and Columbia University, but she most treasures her degree in interior decorating from Parsons School of Design.

Enid began her design career in 2002 as owner of a business positioned to make professional décor services accessible to the busy homeowner. Her design inspiration is frequently the movies where great new interior styles are often introduced. Enid tailors these big-screen concepts so that they work in the home.

Her own home in Norwalk, Connecticut is the canvas where she experiments with color, fabric selection and furnishings. She counts among her creative muses for her personal interiors her husband Stephen — who also assists her with client installations — and their two unique dogs, both of them half black Labrador/half Basset Hound.

Enid is an Allied Member ASID (American Society of Interior Designers), a prestigious designation that attests to a designer’s accredited professional education.
